Current and Recently Completed Projects

August 2011 - Conversion of a bank barn to a three story residence in Loudoun County, VA. 90 plus linear feet of second floor covered porches. The house will have a one-car basement garage, kitchen, dining and living rooms on the main floor, and two bedrooms with baths on the upper floor. Permitting application not yet submitted.

June 2011 - Second floor addition to an existing house in Fairfax County, VA. Owner has acquired the building permit.

May 2011 - Detached two-car garage and two-story addition to an existing house in Prince William County, Virginia. Current build in process.

April 2011 - Two-car detached garage with a boat house in Louisa County, VA. The site was sloped and fill was needed under the floor slab. The foundation walls and concrete floor slab was designed to withstand the extra loads. Permit application not yet submitted.

Photos of an Aging-in-Place Project

These four photos show a 17' by 20' addition in progress on the back of the house that includes a bedroom and bathroom with complete wheel chair access including a roll-in (curbless) shower and roll under sink. Modifications were made to the existing structure for better access. the kitchen was remodeled, the hall way widened, and master bath was enlarged and is also wheel char accessible now. The roof addition was enhanced to hold a "live load" for a track system for transfers between the new bedroom and bathing area. Additional deck is being added to meet the addition and new exterior door.

This 1962 brick rancher was purchased by a young family who wanted to expand the house to allow room for the family to grow. Located in Vienna, VA, this project was completed in 2008.

This project, completed in 2007, was purchased by a builder who wanted to make this Falls Church house larger and more modern.

Quentin Dillman drafted the plans for this addition, consisting of an oversize garage with a two-bedroom apartment above. Completed in 2006, this house is located in Arcola, VA.
